General Civil Litigation-Plaintiff & Defendant

The phrase “general civil litigation”, is referring to lawsuits dealing with whether or not one party will pay money to another party. This covers a wide variety of cases from those involving the purchase and sale of real estate or other goods or services typically involving issues of real property or consumer law such as what is called fraud or misrepresentation to cases of personal injury such as where someone’s dog has bitten you or where someone has driven his or her car negligently, by running a red light, say, and has injured you.

General civil litigation can also include probate, where someone has died and his or her debts need to be paid and assets distributed.
